HAPPY (belated) 4TH OF JULY!!!
Okay, this is gonna be quick. I just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive and well. I finished up my first summer semester on Friday and started class for the second session yesterday. No rest for the weary my friends.
A short I-List or a couple of things I'm into right now:
1. Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott Odell. Actually a young adult book written in 1960, it's required reading for my new Youth Literature class. It's so good and heartbreaking at the same time and it's really short so I finished it in a day.
2. Julie and Julia by Julie Powell. I bought this book on super clearance at my campus bookstore like 3 semesters ago and I said, "oh, I'll read this when I have some free time." Of course, I hadn't read it and the book hibernated on my bookshelves until this weekend when I saw the preview for the movie coming out with Amy Adams and Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, whom I love. And I'm loving it- how she writes really long sentences going in several directions all at the same time.
Okay, this was supposed to be short. I have to stop and take care of some commitments, but I'll be back tonight with a couple pictures and the rest of my list. I know you're on pins and needles. I can feel it.
